92 Years Ago – September 16, 1932: Holdomor. J.V. Stalin approved the punishment of kulaks and others deemed as hostiles. A secret instruction given to repressive institutions.
83 Years Ago – September 16, 1941: Operation Barbarossa. East of Kyiv, Ukraine, 5 Soviet armies were surrounded by the Germans. Generals Guderian and Kleist’s Panzergruppen were in charge.
Siege of Odessa. In the district of Grossliebental, Romanian troops captured this German settlement in Odessa.
